Dear 2011 Jefferson High School Marching Band Parents and Students,

What a fantastic year we just completed! I know all of us were so pleased with the performance that the band had on Saturday at Semi- State. While we came up just a little short of our goal of reaching State Finals (so so close!!) the band gave their best performance of the year and represented your families, this school and the Lafayette community in a first class way.

I want to thank all parents who devoted so many hours to this program.

From the Pit crew who spent hours building props and who made sure everything was loaded and unloaded every week –(even in the pouring rain!), to the Chaperones who made sure the kids were OK on the bus and at contests, to our dedicated Uniform Moms who always made sure the kids looked great and finally to the dedicated Color Guard parents who helped with costumes, flags, make up etc—all of you  get my sincere thanks.  I hope you enjoyed the time watching your kids perform in this organization. It is so rewarding for me to see the pride that the parents have for this group and I know that you will never, ever regret the time spent with your kids.

To the seniors and their parents, my sincere thanks.  I hope you will always remember the 2011 Marching Band with pride. Even though you did not get to march in the finals, you ARE one of the premier marching bands in this state.
